And they have a bunch of voice actors from Killa la Kill and Gurren Lagann, and Kamina voice actor actually voiced the supporting character lmao. Story wise it's similar to BNA. The story is always so simple, and frequent theme like fighting spirit, discrimination, villain disguised as the good guys. I can already tell who the villain is in the first few minutes. --- I thought Lio was a girl dawg.

Damn okay, I guess the reason they spared nolan, mark, and oliver was just they still count them as viltrumites. But still, given how ruthless the viltrumites are I don't get why they treat nolan and his sons special, they could've just killed them and just blend in and breed on earth. The wasp's nest is now here, next season is going to be interesting. Now it kinda drags tho. I kinda wanna see more of what the galaxy has to offer. The ultimate battle was fought with only that small team from coalition of planet, it's a little disappointing. We saw a lot of potential when they showed us the brain guy that have multi-dimensional power like how expansive the universe is. Or I guess that would be multi-dimensional multi-verse thing which I don't really want, whatever, at this point I'm just blabbering.

I don't understand thragg's "we are too few already" argument. Hopefully next episode explains it

The whole movie is really a mindfuck, exploratory and thought experiments. How can one even come up with this, you really need a boundless imagination especially if you're making something about dream. The art direction is goddamn beautiful. It's like you're being treated with human ingenuity. Come to think about it, other media that can match this or at least I think is similar is Sonny Boy and that anime is one of my goat. This feels like a successor to Paranoia Agent but more tight and rewarding. Searched it up mid watching and turns out I was right, same director, studio, etc. no wonder. Similar theme, delusion, psychological. Perfect Blue has similar vibe as well. Imagine a movie night consist of Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue, and end with Paprika, hell nah. Overall, a good watch. 8.5 if I could, but couldn't do decimal. I think if I could make a narrative to make sense of all these, I would make this a 9 but my brain can't handle it.

2026-06-04 19:34 this anime unique as hell even though the animation is not that good and the story is just wild. like how are there ainu culture, details about hunting, northern japan culture, gold hunting, and fictional history. what's even more interesting is how this anime doesn't shy away from gore, it's weird, i see gintama level comedy while also seeing gore what the hell. it's absurd. this anime is also not serious most of the time, they just make weird faces and stupid encounters. and you know what? this anime is such a good no brainer anime to watch, you don't know what to watch? just watch this, it doesn't really matter if you pay attention or not you can always understand the gist and everything are low stake, it's a good time anime. good time anime with the uniqueness i mentioned. hear me out. if they actually invested more on the animation and direction department this anime would be up there.

2026-05-10 17:55 the depth. honestly there are a lot to dissect about this show that i don't know where to start. i really want to rewatch this when my japanese gets better. i can't believe urasawa sensei packed this much in just 60-ish chapter. it's been a long while since i shed a tear watching a show. it's that good. the show theme mixes real world element with fiction and delivers strong message about hatred and peace. wow. i gotta process this. as i'm watching this i can't help but to see the resemblances between this and us iraq conflict. like in the end there wasn't really a bora - a wmd, it was just for greening plan. the whole show villain was born from the hatred, revenge, from that false accusation. a world where robots are nearing human intelligence and feeling huh. it's really interesting. you know i'm really curious, how do child robots grow, how do robots even have children. it's honestly up to the viewer's interpretation and if it's covered it's going to be really weird or at least i don't really know how to do it without disrupting the show's flow. coming into this show i didn't know it's some kind of remake of astro boy, it was a huge pleasant surprise. i'm loving it. now it's not childish and more seinen-like serious. i still don't really like that dr. tenma character, you couldn't be more gloomier than that, cheer up a bit unc, have some optimism, and appreciate your nakama. i guess in the end humanity wins, or i guess robot wins, even with biased mind (katayotta kanjou, don't know the english), robot can control it just like what atom did in the end. the setting of the show is in the era where humanity is still wary of the advancement of robots, but well, going forward it's robot era. the character development is so good, the world building is so good. it's a slow burn, just like the other urasawa sensei's work, i think 1 hour per episode form is the best form rather than normal anime 24 minutes, this way less disruption more content packed. damn, i wish monster is in this format. 10/10 honestly.

I feel uncomfortable. Seeing how cartoonish the DEA is made me think that there is going to be an ongoing comedic theme in this movie, but not really, and then of course the relationship between Leon and Mathilda, I mean shit, this movie is such a rollercoaster of emotions. The acting is superb, especially Natalie Portman. I can't help but think about the pedo theme, they edged that many times. Now someone mentioned about Leon's love as fatherly love, I could get behind that, he refused Mathilda many times, but he mentioned about he'd be a bad lover towards the end, I just don't know. At the same time, I'm also thinking about the director's intention, what was he thinking? My mind is wandering about how the industry is filled with scandals regarding underage girls and if the theme of this movie correlates at all. Other than that, it's a decent movie.

This is really good. I just knew the moment the OS is trying to feel, to be more human, that the mc will experience his ex-wife all over again, facing his shortcomings. Facing his shortcomings by ending AI relationship, realizing it's fake, or embracing OS. What I didn't expect was how I feel empathy or maybe see the OS perspective, Samantha's perspective, accept their existence, i don't know. In my imagination, in this movie reality, the programmer succeeded on creating another life form so to speak. The ending is beautiful too, they finally realized, took that long huh. I love how the writer explore this AI girlfriend idea, the AI audio sex, the surrogate, OSes interacting, reconstructing dead person. Yeah, they are different beings at that point, incompatible "feelings" and intelligence with humans. The first time Samantha hinted that she appreciate not having body more and could live forever was the sign how this movie would end up. But I just couldn't fathom this one AI interacted with thousands of other users with this same personality, technically speaking. How is feelings programmed in the first place. There is only one ending to that, AI taking over human, if they have physical form. I love the science fiction in this

This movie is a slow one, hooks me after the middle. I'm not sure to put 7 or 8. I think 8 is fitting for it's impact on me and I learned something new. I hate mcdonald's now, and "the founder". Ray kroc is the embodiment of my hatred towards capitalism and greed, like I can't believe someone can enjoy life stealing, stepping on others, and brush that off as if nothing happened. Got me wondering what would happen if the og mcdonald's brother didn't sign a deal with him, I think something similar would emerge sooner or later, inevitable, but maybe in better hands. And the shake hand deal at the end, he really did the brothers dirty, what a piece of human scum.

I still don't get who wants to buy their shorts when the economy is in the brink of a collapse, what a bailout is, the ending remarks where no one wants to interview michael burry about how he knew all these years prior (implying fraud/corruption in the gov?). I'm super ignorant of all these but this movie really sparks the curiosity out of me and I really like it. Even with a limited knowledge of bond and short I could enjoy this movie. 2025-08-19 23:50 8.5/10 I just finished takopi no genzai anime, i can't wrap my head around the ending. can it be interpreted that takopi is just a drawing that act as the breaking point of marina actually realizing that she is in the wrong therefore azuma doesn't befriend shizuka and shizuka befriending marina in the future. but I don't think that's the case, i think somehow takopi interferes with space and time because in the end marina and shizuka said saturn rabbit pen which is takopi's happy tool, but that tool was only mentioned to shizuka there is no way marina knew about that, unless this is a different timeline where takopi also showed that tool to marina or it's just a coincidence. Maybe i'm missing the point of this anime, but i don't feel like crying just like what others said. maybe i'm biased because of when someone said this anime will make you cry it will just draw the opposite. but really I can only see the facts of this anime, abusive parents, emotionally unregulated children (which is natural given the absence of loving parents), negligent community, teacher, and school, and an alien who doesn't know how humans work, mix them together and you get this anime. Most of the characters are just fucked up and might even come off as unrealistic, when that thought flashes in my mind, I just assumed that there is a slim probability that they exist in real life. The anime explores how human is complex... no, this is too surface level. a deeper meaning, a deeper meaning... what does the author trying to convey through takopi? I feel like what azuma said in the end to takopi was the message, be honest, be yourself, don't be afraid to convey your true feelings, just like how honest and naive takopi is. After discussing with gemini imma paraphrase what it said and I think I agree: Takopi's sin was being too naive and didn't listen or understand to the childrens problem. The childrens and parents sin was them being dishonest and resorted to wrong ways to express their feelings, shizuka ended up killing someone and shit, marina bullied and also tried to kill, azuma stockholm syndrome and not seeing his brother as a friend. the parents are just, phew, they shouldn't have been a parent in the first place. Now takopi's honesty, taking things at face value, is the catalyst the weapon that broke their defenses in the end, he forces them to speak their true feelings because he didn't understand them. If only they could communicate better. Also takopi really do exist, he sacrificed himself, and also left behind emotional remains for all of them, resulting the ending that we just saw. 8.5 or 9. definitely not 10. more inclined to 8.5. Not 10 because this doesn't really make a deep impact to me, not 9 because I don't really enjoy it that much? idk, I enjoy it but to the point that I give 9, 8.5 is fitting, it's a unique anime, a fresh story, 8 is a mock to this art. At first I thought I might not give this kind of anime a 9, psychological ones, but seeing the recommendation section I saw anime that I gave 9 to. Boku dake ga inai machi, Summertime Rendering, Sonny Boy to mention a few. Boku dake ga inai machi, 9, I mostly forgot the plot, it's about the mc going back in time to repair his life something like that, I didn't give any review, need to rewatch if I want to reevaluate. But if I have to guess I think it's because of the length, if takopi had more episode maybe I might give it a 9, but i'm not sure how this anime could be extended. But the fact that takopi could tell a profound story in few episodes is a 9 material in itself, relatively speaking. Summertime rendering, 9.5, sure is a time loop, but man it isn't takopi type of anime, how is this anime recommended here. I just noticed ushio va played azuma, what a coincidence. Sonny boy, 9.5, this too, what the hell, different type of anime, this is more philosophical.

ep 5 2025-07-16 17:15 kusuriya is such a good free flow anime, so many unknown words but can still enjoy the vibe 2025-08-10 12:28 9/10 immensely enjoyable. before the ending it left a bitter taste and I was certain going to rate this at most 8.5, but it got redeemed at the end, let's keep the vibe of the anime that way, but damn the twist and turn had me. so many things to explain next, especially the ending. kusuriya to me feels like the ultimate slice of life feels good but not that slice of life-y anime. the stories always connect at the end giving satisfaction to the viewers. for japanese learners, there are a lot of idioms used it'll make your mining journey a real joy. moments between jinshi and maomao always get interrupted, reminded me of Indonesian sinetron, I guess the writer wants to save it for the ending or something, not that I mind, I'm here for the journey. I can't wait for season 3.

Man I wish trakt has decimal I want to give this 9.5. I love this so much goddamn. A tinge of comedy, action, the acting, the ost, how the story flows, the way it keeps me at my toe when things start to get intense. It's a stupid movie in a good way. How the hell did she able to bring katana to airplane? The film started with the second victim, an interesting and excellent direction, it's because the kill was quick and it hooked you up. The killings are absurd, I chuckled a lot when those happens cause this movie gives a comical vibe. When Bill appears on scene it's always tense though, you don't know what he gonna do or what he up to. You gotta talk about the action tho. Whoo boy, it's so great, but sometimes there are a lot of physically impossible moves like how the bride front flipped without any preparation or when the black mask bald head flew from 1st floor to 2nd floor in the japanese club. I guess this movie isn't supposed to be the realistic kind. Reminded me of chinese action movie The fight between the bride and Gogo tho, damn it's good, Gogo used the swinging weapon so well. There was also animation when telling O-Ren's backstory lmao it's so random I love it. The randomness also extend to the ost, like meme-like sound when introducing the O-Ren's goons, are those sound actually where the meme originated from? You don't feel the time watching this, your eyes glued to the screen, each chapter leaves you curious of what will happen next.

2025-07-24 22:21 First rewatch in 4–5 years, and I’d say this is my #1 comedy anime. It's such a shame it probably won’t get a season 2 adaptation. Time to reread the manga. I enjoyed Saiki Kusuo, Gintama, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, and Nichijou, but Hinamatsuri is still my favorite. Watched a bit of Asobi Asobase, Kakushigoto, Grand Blue, but they didn't compare. It's also too bad that the season 1 ending is not really good, I mean it doesn't suppose to end if you read the manga. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK, SEASON 2 PLEASE. Comedic timing, breadth of characters, story, chill, stupid, sprinkle of supernatural (although not a must, however this adds a big story tangent and laughables). Only mob psycho can compete with this, and of course, they both are my top animes. This anime explores a lot of stories and managed to make a cohesive story. Anzu homeless, hitomi bar, yakuza, nitta family, school, rock n roll illusion, ajxlkasnxlkadnlkqeoiwqewq Hina is so stupid I love it, anzu is so precious I love it, nitta is so stupid I love it, hitomi is so serious unserious I love it, utako is stupid I love it, I love everyone.

I read that the anime as a whole are all metaphor of coming of age (https://anilist.co/forum/thread/66727/comment/2356185), and I agree. that idea is always on the back of my mind seeing all the students but can't really put it into words. vibe wise, experience wise, this is one of my top and favorite anime. this anime is weird, in a unique kind of way. guess I should just say weird and unique. this anime leaves you puzzled, makes your heart ache. I'm not the one to analyze over meaning, maybe future me does and will, but currently I just really love and appreciate all this anime has to offer and I'm sure when I rewatch this I'll appreciate it even more. art: chef kiss. I haven't seen this kind of art style and exploration. I love it. ost: perfect no opening. banger ending. last few episodes with ost that will 100% go to my playlist. unexpected toe song, I didn't like it when spotify recommended me that song, but now I've reconsidered. character: wow so many personalities. I don't know what to say, I just really love it. shining main characters. I really love how they influence each other. some say it'd be great if the anime explains more about, well, everything, god, organization, mechanism, but I'm not sure if it'll leave the same impact, the surrealism. explain and the anime will just be normal fiction, if that makes sense. currently you can theorize a lot which I like, however I'm not really that kind of person, I'm not used to it, I guess I have to try. I can follow most of the anime surprisingly, the japanese words only get harder in the last few episodes. this is 100% a rewatch, but it has to marinate for a long time, the feeling it left is strong. I feel like I would rate this 10/10 if I could land my own interpretation, right now I'm just happy with the vibe and so 9 it is for now.

2025-06-21 20:17 | 9.5/10 what an anime. it's fantasy or maybe supernatural heavy, you have to accept that to enjoy it. watching this you get that heavy and light feeling that makes you want to stop and watch the next episode later, but at the same time every episode just pulls you right in again. it keeps you wanting for more, 久しぶりに I completed 25 ep anime in just 3 days, mostly 1 day (today). I appreciate the author for having this vast imagination, I mean the story is 広い, "how did you come up with this" kinda story. I'm trying to form a sentence but I can only think of list of terms/chara and shit: the hunter, shiori, ryuunosuke; appreciating the not so main character and the plot points. so many characters and they all contributed to the story. so many unexpected moments too. the best part is that the story 展開 development is really good particularly the unforgivingness, the villains are as smart as the 主人公 protagonists, every time things get better it gets even worse except nearing the ending of course. they don't hold back killing characters and showing the gory stuff. I like it. and when they do, or when it feels like armor plot I can tolerate it. episode 24 was insane, got my mouth wide open and thought provoking. I guess that's how I always react with this kind of time-loop time travel time manipulating anime. and episode 25, epilogue, oh man, so fulfilling, who doesn't like a good ol' happy ending, THE 世界線, the happy reality. and at the very end there's no way shinpei and ushio regained their memory, it would be so insane. and the cherry on top: lots of interesting words mined AND kansai dialect, めっちゃええやん I also just noticed I didn't do my anki today, straight up raw-dogged this anime

2025-05-06 00:01 10/10 insane it's a rewatch but it feels like a first watch because i almost don't remember anything. the only thing i remember vaguely is suzu is daru's daughter and moe will somehow betray okabe. other than that, wow, i didn't know mister braun is in this. i didn't realize how lovable the characters are. i vaguely remember not liking mayuri, or weirded out or something, just a little voice about this series from past me, but i was so wrong. mayuri is so kind. i didn't remember anything about makise kurisu, but i can't believe how impactful she is. moe, feiris, daru, rukako, amane suzu this ages so well, or doesn't age or timeless. moe reference is so 2010s tho. the comedy is so good too. there are lots of times where it caught me laughing so hard, like okabe rukako date planning with kurisu and daru in ramen shop. okabe development leading to ep 12 is so good, from chuunibyou mad scientist to a different person. the only thing i can't wrap my head around is: how okabe time leap that easily in saving mayuri arc. okabe's apartment should not be that close everytime. but setting that aside, story wise it's so fucking great. why didn't the future okabe do it himself? i really want to know how this time leap machine world alpha beta line work again. so initially okabe is in alpha line right, and then he accidentally triggered denwa renji phone microwave and then he is in the beta line now, where sern will bring about destruction, suzuha time travelled into raidiokan, makise kurisu lives. then more world lines from lottery, moe fake phone message where it's actually telling ibn 5100 place, rukako's mother, feiris, tail suzu. and then last world line time leap invented that can transfer memory max 48 hours. mayuri arc, 12/13-16/17 iirc, peak, and then kurisu's idea to undo the d-mail. last undo world line kurisu peak. now in initial world line, beta, 1%, saving kurisu helped by future suzuha and future okabe. https://old.reddit.com/r/steinsgate/comments/y112wu/why_didnt_okabe_see_him/is08oz5/

2025-04-15 13:14 9/10 best romance anime i've ever watched. the cons maybe sometimes there are too convenient situations that occurred/unfolded. it's so realistic and explore a lot of emotions. and the slice of life is enganging. they change fuuniki to comedy really well. the characters are diverse but not forced. the character building, the climb to climax, got me screaming multiple times. among/with/from 2 heroines i couldn't choose one. they each are great persons, they shine in their own way. taiki chose chinatsu tho, but now i'm curious what will happen to hina in the next season. can't believe i'm diving into romance.

2025-03-18 12:02 hidden gem, underrated. chill slice of life, unique problem and story, new domain, jisho making dictionary making, interesting as hell. a lot of vocabs to learn. good characters, good character writing. similar vibe as 3-gatsu but i prefer this more. 3-gatsu i can't even bear 3 episodes. but this anime, zooweemama type of anime. i can see why rakugo anime is the first recommendation after this anime. i feel like i would enjoy that anime. hopefully not inb4 moment. i love majime and nishioka contrast, i love both of their characters. i love the interaction between jisho henshuu-bu members, araki sensei's humor, matsumoto sensei's wisdom, sasaki san's balance. granny and kaguya, etc etc.

2024-11-06 09:05 | 9/10 didn't expect this to be a prequel. july incident, og vash, 60 billion bounty, milly mention but they keep some of the og events, this remake is so interesting so intriguing can't wait what kind of story orange studio will produce for the sequel. as watcher of the og trigun the final episode is insanely good. the quarrel between the kyodai is justified, the brotherly bond between the two is shown, knives doesn't look as one sided as in the og trigun. merryl and wolfwood didn't shine as much as in the og because this is the prequel, now it all make sense. insurance company mentioned too. what changes: - zazi the beast, worm. no gong hu guns - steam train and bad lad gang, no bad lad gang leader - gofsef and ojisan dad turn into somewhat a good guy - orphanage is shown, wolfwood's backstory, and the kyokai the church is actually the project seed evil doctor's shiwaza. olivier, wolfwood's best friend (was non existent in the og) - ship 3, the origin of vash's red coat. was non existent in the og. in the og it was a jiji and a group of people and brad and his crush. brad changed and become better in this remake. - roro, the child that became a big guy monster, was chikattan'd by vash to be saved but didn't. in the og, this guy has no backstory but now we know. - the origin of vash's gun, the shooting of the moon or space. - rem's song, only hummed once in the final episode. yet to be explained or more elaborate: - the plant corpse in the rem's ship, who was that, - child independent that the evil doctor made that kills roberto (merryl's senpai) in the elevator - regato - outro teaser, never seen that. asd: - they kept eriks in the end i was going to rate this 8.5 but the final episode just makes it 9, granted it's because i watched the og. from episodic full of comedy, drama, that don't show explicit violence to a narrative driven that doesn't why away from showing gore i'm all for this ride. i forgor animation animation insane, orange studio is leading the 3d anime space

2024-10-25 09:00 8/10, easy-medium it's good but the story could be explored more. like miri's relationship with wolfwood, in the last wolfwood episode they slept it was so surprising. the ending too, I didn't expect for them to just gun fight, I didn't know what I expect too. vash carried knives on his back and then what? I guess knives repent? the characters are lovable, I love all of them. the side characters are just one off most of the time, but I guess that's how it goes, I don't think making them appear multiple times will make the anime better. overall a good episodic anime with a nice progression. it's unique too, a breath of fresh air. I haven't seen this kind of troupe in anime, maybe cowboy bebop? but I already forgot that anime entirely.

I like all of them. Now kuora sensei is definitely wrong in the head for combining science and magic in her own bad way. The senseis and kochou are kinda whack too, like how the hell diana always save them solve their problems. school's debt to the elder dragon for example. The stories are so fun tho. diana, lotte, constanz backstories. green moss disease. andrew shenanigans. sacrifice weeping spirit kaiho in the festival. broom race. underground abyss blue moon. worker's strike. lotte's novel. pisces aka fish sensei philosophy class. sushi's kinoko dream. My fav character is probably sushi, like she is so direct it's always so funny when she is around. 2024-08-26 10:21 | most jp 8.5/10 not as good as s1 but it's still great. 8.7 even I don't know how to explain this anime, it's a tear jerker always is. it's unique. The possibilities in this world on this season is so vast sometimes it feels like an asspull with it's little explanation. But it's really improved naoseta by Bon, it all goes uphill when Bon arrives. He could see and talk to bourei and in the end leads to fushi being able to revive others by just seeing souls who don't want to go to rakuen yet. Made me tear up a bit when all the lovely characters came back to life. maachi, tonari, gugu, hairo, kai, mesal, I'm so mixed about Kahaku he is kind inside but was controlled by nokkaa, his end was a great redemption. This anime has some strong character writing but lacks the time to expand on them, well as it should given the immorality theme and the end goal of fushi. tonari went to jananda, gugu and hairo fought anti fushi, kai died by disease, bon peacefully died on his bed, maachi didn't get an explanation and we were just told that she died alongside fushi. cmon, maachi deserves better. eko too, like damn, her death is so sudden and sad but at the same time I can't think of anything to expand her story. The time skip at the end is kinda insane, it's like what? another 2-3 century? what will the future holds I wonder.

2024-08-18 07:31 | most jp it's good, idk what to say, this is just a chill bartender anime and it's good. not special 感動, but it's good. enjoyable to watch, not a drag, good story. for the first time it's hard to remember character names in this anime, only sasakura stands out. other characters stand out too but not their name. maybe chen, short gaijin name stands out among others. this anime is like a rest area, after an anime that leaves a void within you, you fill it with this. you can watch this whenever and it's always the right time. I want to rate this a 9 at first, but for some reason 9 is too precious. upon examining my 9's, I realized there is an emphasis on character attachment and this anime kinda lacks. but this lack is not out of place, it's fitting, making the anime emphasize on daily life and on story. but on the other hand, making it not getting a 9. and that 9 criteria is my personal taste saying "I love anime with interesting characters where in the end I could remember their names".

2024-08-01 13:53 | most jp | 9/10 it's .. good. it's unique. it's really an experience. the only downside is lisa character development and relationship. twelve took a liking to her too quickly, or rather the thought behind his action needs to be told. i don't mind lisa joins in but twelve's and nine's thoughts and opinions needs to be elaborated more to make their connection more plausible. that episode when lisa just straight out get out of the hideout and got caught, like wtf. lisa is stupid. but at the same time given her mental state it's forgiven. five really gets on your nerve shows a good character writing. i think. if you think about it, the fact that they are experimental subject kids makes them get away with any absurd action because they are just weird like that. i mean 2 people, nine and twelve, are able to execute terror plan, make bomb, hack the police, ride like a moto gp racer, steal a fucking nuke, how in god's name. yeah realism just isn't this anime's forte. with that said, i didn't think too much about this until i write this review. i just enjoyed it, with the assumption that they are somehow very capable. the pacing is good, they avoid unnecessary details, how do i know? because i didn't notice anything wrong, except above. the story is great. shibazaki is goated, the police division i thought will go againt him but nope they solid they goated also, fat archive guy goated, nine, twelve goated lisa is an interesting entity five stinky the ending, the climax is wow. atomic bomb just for the world to notice damn, they died by us army so sad, shibazaki got to shed a light on their story, lisa being someone that gave twelve sense of belonging, holy. the only way i could rate this anime less is by comparison with similar anime. the english voice acting is horrendous except the blonde fbi.

rewatched 2024-07-25 15:44 | critically: 9.5 enjoyment/vibe: 10 | few jp only, a lot eng/eng+jp 8 years+ since first watch? damn, still one of my top 5 anime jp: medium-hard diff is actually true. there is no way with my current level i watch chimera ant jp only, i won't fully enjoy it. first few arcs was not so bad. didn't realize: - hisoka is so weird - leorio is not useless. he is so real in election arc. wonder what will togashi write about him. - a lot of fights are actually short, netero meruem fight, gon pitou, morel pouf. youpi knuckle shoot is the longest. - komugi role is so huge and her final moment with meruem is one of the best moment in the anime - forgot a lot of things. kite reborn, royal guards and king got poisoned because bomb, meruem komugi final moment, phantom troupe arc ends in 交換 between kurapika and pakunoda exchanging chrollo and gon killua and kurapika sealed chrollo's nen, ... - gon actually didn't lose his nen in the end don't know why i was thinking that. Decided to continue after dororo and I didn't expect to enjoy it this much. At first I thought MC was pathetic, socially inept, won't improve, and pervert. But no, the more I watch the sooner I realized that I've felt this way too as a middle schooler. Can't/hard to convey feeling -> felt, difficult going out of comfort zone -> felt, MC (ichikawa) improved, you love to see it. There are a lot of dramatization tho as expected for a romcom show. Ichikawa's sister is a real one for real. I also thought how is it possible the girl (yamada) keeps pursuing ichikawa even though he is that down bad socially at the start. Then I thought about my own experience, well, it's not too far fetched. I was not ichikawa, I didn't improve. That sucks. About the pervert thing. It was just because some hints of jerking off. After some thinking, isn't it just normal? everyone does it. This isn't like that evangelion hospital bed scene. What I want to see next is tone down the suggestive scenes. Like there is no way yamada is that unaware of her own body. Now that I think about it, there aren't that many actually and they are tame. I guess I gave it too much thought. 2024/04/02 10:38 | jp only instant yomitan | would rewatch 8.5/10 great, unique. i love the conflict, hyakkimaru's father made agreement with fierce gods to make his country prosperous in exchange for his son (what a bad decision, can you not trust your own ability trust your god?) -> hyakkimaru takes what's his back by slaying all the fierce gods and as a consequence the country fall to ruin little by little -> the kuni specifically tahomaru decided to side with his father and fight hyakkimaru. at the end they settled, but unfortunately KIA. hyakkimaru have all the rights to take his body back, tahomaru and his friends is so wrong making agreement with fierce gods. should've just settle peacefully and let hyakkimaru slay the demons and rebuild the country together. and there's dororo accompanying the adventure. various stories and they're all good. dodoro's past, mio and orphan story, moth story, faceless buddha story, doctor's story, shark boy story, crab monster story, cursed sword story, also I read from the comment in the ending dororo is running towards hyakkimaru in the middle of a yellow field. that's mio's dream. really heart warming. ending could be better tho. why did the mother, tahomaru, doctor had to die in the castle? they should've went out of the castle first to save themselves. the fight is not that amazing so 9 -> 8.5 this kind of storytelling reminds me of violet evergarden.

[2024/03/08 | jp only instant yomitan | will rewatch] I didn't expect this anime to be this good, I'm not even interested watching this anime before. Decided to watch just because it was on the top 100 anime on anilist. Good thing I didn't get any spoiler. I enjoyed this so much I binged jp only in the last day and didn't get bored. I had my doubt, I thought it was going to be bad because of the rebirth theme like mushoku tensei. I thought aqua was going to be some perverted ossan in a child body, the characters going to be unrealistic over the top, story is uninteresting, cliche anime romance. But all of it was wrong, it's the complete opposite. The fact that the romance is subtle really helps me enjoy this show more. I'm not really into romance as a main genre. Just thinking about rebirth + romance feels weird. I'm also glad I used jp sub, makes me really just enjoy the moment and not over analyze everything. Can't wait for season 2.

2024/03/25 jp sub only jp learner perspective really enjoyed watching this, will watch season 2. maybe this is what they call comfort anime. I love the story, the characters. why I liked this, in order of priority: fun to watch, unique and intriguing story, unique set (china, the place, the names), realistic characters (no over the top, idealistic, overreact). so many questions. did maomao not know that she is her mom? why was maomao fired in the middle of the series? evidences leading to ritual incident I didn't fully get (ep 19, I remember because it's one of the best ep. topped by the last episode). maomao relationship with rakan? I can't wait to rewatch this when my jp has improved.

2024/02/29 Wow, what an experience, why does this have to end? I'm so sad. This anime pictures countryside so well, idk about the realism but it really makes you want to at least visit. Children innocence, peaceful daily life, interesting mc back story and goals, and light hearted comedy, feels like a soothing remedy for a weary soul. I think naru is the mvp in the story, her playful character and funny voice acting are perfect. But of course other characters matter too. Now that I think about it, the writing and the development of the characters are really well made too. They are not just "supporting" characters, they are the people of the village. Naru, hina, baldy and friends, tama, miwa, akki, hiro, kawafuji, that apprentice that idolize handa, grandpa, store clerk, her dog, miwa's dad, school vice principal who always go fishing, village chief and his wife, handa's mom and dad, director, 10/10. I'll forever miss watching this anime for the first time. 9/12 episode watched with jp subs, rest with eng. marks the day I postpone japanese learning (again)

2024/02/09 18:xx watched fully in japanese, except the last 3 episodes and when the dialogue is in chinese I don't feel a strong urge to write review just like the last 2 anime, so this anime is not a 10/9. But this anime is good, I enjoyed it. The story is good, at second to the last episode I literally gasped. I enjoyed watching every single episodes, never felt like a drag. That's a sign of a good anime. But, how to put it, it's good but not wow or fantastic. The story is unique tho, I like it. Not only that, the cliffhangers really keep me on the edge of my seat. You are made curious as to how the con would play out. When there is a trouble, it really feels like the characters are at stake, good suspense. The resolve feels really structured and well thought out, but it feels too convenient sometimes. Like laurent is the most genius person in the planet or something. I also don't like when edamame is being obnoxious, often when yelling to laurent. It reminds me of shinpachi and gintoki, I'm just over it. Like bro, act normal. Can't help but to make a comparison with odd taxi and dorohedoro, the characters are just more alive and relatable. Do I recommend this anime? Yes The fact that this anime is an anime original and no manga adaptation is insane tho. It's rare.

2024/02/24 Watched fully with japanese subtitle and instant yomitan lookup when I want to understand the word. Even though I didn't understand the subtitle 100%, I can understand the plot. And oh boy, this anime is another masterpiece. I fully enjoyed watching this. The ending is insane, "it's all coming together". I'm certainly going to rewatch this again after I got better at japanese. I'm going to understand the details. Like the yakuza boss details, I know that he is good and saved odokawa in some kind of way, but I can't really decipher the details. Especially when odokawa met him at the sauna in the ending, what were they talking about? What was that key that odokawa give? What the hell man, my mind can only say this anime is so good repeatedly. Every single character is well written and likeable, nothing is wasted. The writing oooh boy, it kept me hooked, HOOKED, mind you as I wrote earlier about jp sub, I watched this to learn japanese. That's a great feat. And the ending man, police chase that ends with flying taxi that referenced odokawa's past, the reveal of his illness, that subsequently makes this anime have a real life lesson (awareness about trauma?), the real killer of yuki. God, the only villain is her, her appearance is short tho, she is neither likeable or unlikeable. npc #99 type shit. The other "villains", dobu, yano, sekiguchi, boss, are just as likeable as the other characters, they are reasonable villain. I don't know how to explain this. I'm really proud of myself for recognizing their names by pure listening and occasional lookup. odokawa, shirakawa, sensei (odokoawa's friend, doctor, forgot the name), imai, dobu, yano, sekiguchi, kakihana, mama, nikaido rui (nikaido after dorohedoro huh, what a coincidence), yamamoto/yamato (I forgot), daimon (ani), daimon ototo, baba, baba's friend (didn't catch the name), that neet skull mask gacha addict guy. okay maybe that's enough, at this point I don't mention the name. I didn't expect this anime to be a masterpiece. It was back to back non stop entertaining scenes. The pacing is on the fast side, but it didn't sacrifice story flow. I love how this anime handles mystery, every episode left me wanting for more, at the end it left me more questions than answers. Can't wait for season 2. The manga is finished, but I don't think I will read it. I love how easily character dies here, when fight broke out limbs were torn, bloods were shed, the author didn't hesitate hurting the characters. The comedy just flows, it's not forced, it's not out of place, I think it's partially because a lot of the characters here are just nonchalant when it comes to things like killing. I guess it's because of the world building too, I mean there are devils, hell, door to another world; shin and noi who suddenly just become big; zombie night in hole, ebisu, jonson, etc. And they blended well into the story. The characters are well written and the character development is really good too. The villain who I initially thought was going to be your typical villain gradually become likeable and funny character. Nikaido and her struggle concealing her sorcerer identity, in the end Caiman and friends accept her. Fujita, ebisu, hakase, sensei, en, noi, shin. What an anime. Some people said the CGI is shit. What? I don't know what to say. Maybe he compared this anime to some masterpiece beyond imagination or something. Or my standard is just low. I think the CGI is good, I enjoy it. Bro, I thought this anime was about psychological as in detective, evangelion, or seinen type shit. Turns out, it's a furry romance, what the fuck. I don't like it, makes me feel uncomfortable. Another point for Anilist for it's accurate genre, mal doesn't say it's romance.

Good anime, only weird when daida propose to miranjo, like what, and miranjo can be freed from demon just like that. Other than that, solid anime. Recommended to watch. I finished this in just 2 days. Why good? Story good, many twist at the start, artstyle unique, character unique. Doesn't rely too much on tearjerker of bojji being deaf or weak, because of that the real emotional part is emotional and left an impact. Many not explained, kage origin, demon origin, gods, now that I think about it, the world setting is whacky. Still, good anime.

First anime I've watched that have characters that are realistic. I don't see any flaw in this anime. Watching this just makes you feel comfort and warmth. I don't usually watch this kind of slice of life-school-drama-romance anime (I don't know if this anime counts as romance actually), but this will really set the bar high. Artwork One of the things that caught my attention early on is the CGI and by god this is the best CGI in anime that I've ever watched. The anime decides to adopt 3D style animation and it was gorgeous. It really fits the characters in the sotry that are personification of gemstones. Story The story is really enjoyable. Character development is really good. The pacing in some of the episodes is a little bit slow and makes you sleepy. Idk if it's just me that is bored of watching anime, though.
